Currency - One pound sterling, known colloquially as a quid, is made up of 100 pence.
Weather - Britain's island nature makes for a changeable, though moderate, climate. London summers are generally warm, with temperatures regularly hitting 25-30 degrees centigrade. Winter temperatures rarely go below freezing. The bad news is that rain often arrives when you least expect it; the good news is that London's reputation for fog is wildly overstated.
