- A quick update on our fine filly Hotelgenie Dot Com

THE three year-old was set for a great season until, alas, injury
intervened. As a result she had to withdraw from the 1,000 Guineas, French
Oaks and Coronation Stakes, the three big races planned for the season. The
injury -a tendon problem- is relatively minor but significant enough to mean
it is unlikely she will race until the Autumn at the earliest.

Good news is her spirit remains strong and she is now out enjoying her
return to training on the gallops.

Hotelgenie Dot Com Jt Fav
- Our filly looking good for today's Feilden Stakes at Newmarket

HOTELGENIE DOT COM, the three year old filly named after this website, is set to be joint favourite for today's Feilden Stakes at Newmarket.

She faces tough competition from fellow 1000 Guineas entry Autumn Rythmn. Both look set to start at around 3 to 1.

Hotelgenie Dot Com is trained by Mick Channon and will be ridden again today by Australian jockey Craig Williams who steered her to victory in her maiden race last year at Sandown Park.

"After last year's flying start, we are looking to Hotelgenie Dot Com to fulfill her true promise this season. All the indicators are good and this trip should prove a useful warm-up for May's 1000 Guineas", said Hotelgenie.com's publisher Peter D. Clee.

Classic for Hotelgenie Dot Com
- Our filly is entered in May's 1000 Guineas classic at Newmarket

HOTELGENIE DOT COM, the three year old filly named after this website has been entered in the 1000 Guineas.

The Guineas is the premier miler for three-year old fillies and is one of the five English Classics. The other four are The Derby (Epsom, 1.5 miles, colts and fillies), The Oaks (Epsom, 1.5 miles, fillies), the 2000 Guineas (Newmarket, 1 mile, colts and fillies) and the St Ledger (Doncaster, 1.75 miles, colts and fillies).

Hotelgenie Dot Com, trained by Mick Channon, had a superb debut season as a two year old. Winning on her first outing at Sandown she went on to score two seconds and one third in her next three offs which escalated from a listed race through to Group races. She is now rated 111 just three points down on 1000 Guineas favourite Regal Rose (6 to 1).

Betting
Punters who move fast can get some great ante-post bets on Hotelgenie Dot Com. My research found odds ranging from 25 to 1 (Ladbrokes) to 33 to 1 (The Tote). Best of all was William Hill where I managed to place an each way bet at 50 to 1.

Hotelgenie Dot Com Scores a Fighting Third at Ascot
- Group One place in Fillies' Mile

HOTELGENIE DOT COM achieved an encouraging third place in the hard fought Group 1 Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile at Ascot on Saturday.

Once again the plucky filly chose to run from the back of the field and once again her charge through the pack just left her short of another dramatic win. However, the racing world seems very impressed with the two year old. Several offers have already been received for her, all of which have been politely refused.

Hotelgenie Dot Com Lines Up for Fillies' Mile
- Mick Channon confident of filly's chances in Group 1 race at Ascot

HOTELGENIE DOT COM is 5/2 favourite for Saturday's prestigious Group 1 Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile at Ascot.

The promising two-year-old, has had a great start this year. She won on her first outing at Sandown then grabbed two second places, first in the listed Milcars Stakes and then most recently in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at The Curragh, Dublin.

All smiles for trainer Mick Channon & jockey Craig WilliamsTrainer Mick Channon told the Racing Post: "Her form in England stands up well. She's a professional in every way and, as we feel the mile at Ascot is just what she wants now, then there's every reason to think she'll run another big race".

The filly is believed to be the first UK-based horse to be named after a website; the leading hotel information and booking site Hotelgenie.com.

Hotelgenie Dot Com Storms In Second
- Group 1 Place at the Curragh, Dublin for our filly

HOTELGENIE DOT COM, the two year old filly named after our website, achieved her best result so far with a storming second place at the Curragh, Dublin yesterday.

Hotelgenie Dot Com had a good start then struggled to find a gap to allow her to continue her pace until just before the finish. Once free, she made a gallant surge to win second place by half a length from Mala Mala. The 9 to 4 favourite Sequoyah led home by just over two lengths. However, Hotelgenie Dot Com's latest thrusting finish shows she may favour the mile as she progresses

The Racing Post said the winner "strode clear to beat the strong-finishing Hotelgenie Dot Com", adding that that "Hotelgenie Dot Com did not get the clearest of runs

Hotelgenie Dot Com's trainer, Mick Channon, said "In lots of ways I'm thrilled. There's still some room for improvement in our filly and her form in England stands up. We'll have a look at the Marcel Boussac and the Fillies' Mile, though the Ascot race may come a bit quick."

Moyglare Stud Stakes (Group1) 7f
1) Sequoyah 9/4f
2) Hotelgenie Dot Com 7/2

Genie Granted Second Wish

All smiles for trainer Mick Shannon & jockey Craig Williams. Click for larger image (300dpi).HOTELGENIE DOT COM today made a successful return to the scene of her greatest triumph in the Milcars Star Stakes at Sandown.

A few weeks ago, the two-year old Mick Channon-trained filly stormed from the back of the field at the same venue to clinch a dramatic win in a seven furlong maiden race.

This time out, over a similar distance, Hotelgenie Dot Com stepped up in class to listed race status and came from the back through a high quality field to finish in second spot.

Named after your leading internet hotel booking company, Hotelgenie Dot Com is fast becoming as familiar to punters as it is to yourselves, regular users of the website.

Debut victory for racehorse named after our website

Winner. Click for larger image (300dpi).Hotelgenie Dot Com, the promising two-year old filly named after our online hotel guide Hotelgenie.com won on her first trip on Friday 7 July 2000 at Sandown Park.

Coming from the back, Craig Williams helped power the filly to the front of the field to win by nearly a length from Blueberry Forest in the 2:35 Caribbean Novice Stakes (Class D) (2yo).

"Hotelgenie Dot Com did us proud," said Hotelgenie.com Publisher Peter Clee "I just wish I hadn't told everyone to only back her each way."

"As far as we know she is the first horse in the UK to be named after a website. The second, LondonNet, is named after our other website londonnet.com. She is currently in training with Henry Cecil and we just hope she can match Hotelgenie.com's perfect start".
